Access road to the cottage
The recently renovated cottage is situated in a private area, in the inner Åsnens lake district. The cottage and it’s property are private; you can reach the cottage by an 800 meter long gravel road. The present road-boom/barrier there can be closed and barred with a number lock and that means a complete guarantee of seclusion. The immense private area stretches all the way down to Lake Åsnen; the distance from the house to the lake Åsnen is only a hundred meters. At the lake there’s a cozy place to sit down and to enjoy the impressive view.
There is no electricity or running water in this house. Outside there’s a pump, by which you pump up the water by hand.

Bicycle routes (indicated) pass close by: One’s called ’Kronobergstrampen’ and the other one ’Åsnen Runt’ and they’re both directing to cycle paths alongside the natural & beautiful coast of Lake Åsnen.
Lake Åsnen is one of southern Sweden's largest lakes that’s is known and suitable for bathing, canoeing and fishing. The striking characteristics are the many islands, the countless bays and the small beaches. Those special features give the lake a remarkable and varied appearance. It is unmistakably a unique and exceptional nature reserve with a rich and diverse flora and fauna. The area around Lake Åsnen is considered the southernmost wilderness in Sweden and it is a true paradise for anglers, outdoor sports enthusiasts, nature lovers and for people who appreciate peace, space and quiet. For the fishing enthusiasts: there is sufficient pike, perch, zander and eel in Åsnen. Within reach of Lake Åsnen one can enjoy an active and/or a relaxing holiday.
From the house it is only 1 km to The National Park Åsnen. The national park includes in particular; the nature reserve Bjurkärr, Toftåsa marsh and the western part of the east side of the island. The opening ceremony was May the 25th, 2018.
Near the house is the nature reserve Toftåsa Myr. The largest part of the swamp of Toftåsa consists of peat bog and in other places grow deciduous trees. In 1945, a forest fire devastated parts of the swamp. In the northern part of the marshes, lies Toftagöl, surrounded by old pine forests. In the eastern part of the reserve we find Svartsjön. In Tranholmen, west of the lake Svartsjön, a 'jungle' consisting of pine forest and mixed forest is growing. (Source: Länsstyrelsen Kronoberg).
